Interviewer: When you go about writing, what happens?
Michael: Um, songs come at the strangest time; I could be walking in the park or something and it’ll just hit’ya. I…there’s no set time that I write, they just come…I wrote a song on Concorde, 58000 feet up in the air- I didn’t have a tape recorder so I had to remember it. And I got home, put it on tape, so… they just come.
Interviewer: Where do you think the gift came from?
Michael: [without hesitation] God.
First off, you see gum on the street, leave it there. It isn’t free candy. Second, there are, like, thirty Ray’s Pizzas. They all claim to be the original. But the real one’s on 11th. And if you see a sign that says “Peep Show”, that doesn’t mean that they’re letting you look at the new toys before Christmas.
